Addiction and long term project

It is very unusual for me to leave a project unfinished, in fact I can't start something new until I have finished something else but I have been doing the Debbie Abraham's Mystery Blanket for the last 4 years since she first started doing them.  They are very addictive - I wasn't going to do this year's one but as time got closer I realised I had to do it to have a complete collection.  Does this mean that I will do next years? Who knows?

I will take some better pictures when I have finished it and will also take some pictures of the other blankets that are finished.

Just need to decide what to make next, I think something for me.

July is almost gone!

Where has all the time gone?  We have just been on holiday in the Peak District for a whole week.  We got there and it was raining - my first thought was is it going to do this all week.  Thankfully not.  We had lovely weather and got a bit of walking in, not that easy with a 2 1/2 year old.  

This is the view from the village we stayed in, we did lots of walking along this road.

 
This is the view from the cottage, ours is the cottage in the picture above.  It had a lovely front garden that we spent lots of time sitting in to relax.

 Last picture from our holiday.  This was taken on one of the walks that we did - using part of the high peak trail.  Amazing countryside - would love to revisit when little one is a bit older and can walk a bit further.

Thought I would also include some pictures from before we went on holiday, just some of the humdrum of everyday life.

 Some art work also done the same day to use as a picture for granny's  birthday.  And last but not least my deco cardigan which is still waiting for me to find the appropriate ribbon and buttons so that I can finish it off.

This was taken before I blocked it which has now been done, shame I still have not found any ribbon or buttons yet.

And I thought I would just end with a couple of other pictures that I really like.

Finally!!

Thought I should get around to adding some pictures on here and show you some things I have been doing recently.

 This is the view from the back of our house and where we walk the dog all the time.  It is amazing we live a mile from our small town and yet when you look out of the back or sit in our garden you feel as if you are in the country.

Well onto some things I have been working on recently, this is the digger jumper that I made for my son and he loves wearing it so much, he is digger and tractor mad.  We spend hours sitting at the window in our bedroom when the tractors are out in the fields at the back of the house.  So may have to make another one of these but this time with a tractor instead.

And this little thing is my most recent make, which took 4 days to make but I just love knitting in the bright red.  This was for a friends new baby who was born just over a week ago.  And last but not least I know it is not spring now but I thought I would include a daffodil as the weather here has not been very summerlike recently more like autumn.

Finally, I am still plodding on with my Deco cardigan but am loving the design more and more.  I have got to the sleeves so hopefully won't be long as I am beginning to get itchy about wanting to start something else.  I was planning on doing something else for my son but would quite like to get a shrug done for me that I would like to wear to two weddings we have in July.

A Whole Month

Good grief a whole month since I last wrote on here.  I have done a fair bit of knitting in that time.  Decided to knit something for me and have started Deco by Kate Davies, an absolutely lovely design and well written pattern.  Thanks Kate.  Also a friend has just had her second baby so I have made a little something for him - Mickey by Kim Hargreaves.  A very quick knit , just need to sew it up now.  Something I hate doing though. 

Will post some pictures soon of finished projects or even the ones that are underway.

Where does time go?

Can't believe how long it is since I last typed anything on here and I seriously need to put some pictures on.  Otherwise it will become very boring.

Easter has been and gone and the same with the Royal Wedding but wasn't it beautiful.  Amazing weather we had over the Easter break as well.  We spent lots of time with family which was lovely, absolutely brilliant catching up with them all.

Craftwise - finally finished Josh's digger jumper and I am now just waiting for some brighter weather to take some photos.  Still plodding on with the Debbie Abraham's mystery blanket - one more square for April and May's squares arrived this morning.  Also I have a new project on the go and this time some crochet, some hexagons to make into a blanket, using Rowan cotton glace.  I would now also like to make something for me so will spend some time over the next few days looking at some of my pattern books.

Busy, Busy

Can't believe how quickly time flies.  I still haven't added any pictures - I have taken some last weekend just haven't got around to uploading them .  We seem to have been busy all week - but seems to have just been the usual things - toddlers, shopping, walking the dog, feeding the ducks, washing, ironing, etc.

Craftwise I am getting on quite nicely with this months Debbie Abrahams Mystery Blanket squares.  Went to mum and dad's today and managed to do a whole square while Josh was entertained by my dad.  Also my cardigan is growing nicely.  Hope to take some pictures soon.

Blogging

Not very good at this blogging lark.  Need to try and add some photos at some stage to make it more interesting.  Spend lots of time looking at other blogs and thinking I will never be able to do that.  Oh well maybe I will have a go.

I need to go and take some pictures this weekend and then I will try adding them next week.
